Our client, a privately held real estate investment firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting and financial operations across its investment entities and real estate portfolio. Reporting to senior accounting leadership, this individual will handle financial reporting, treasury activities, and audit support while collaborating with investment professionals and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records for investment entities, including journal entries, general ledger activity, and bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Prepare quarterly and year-end financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

• Support cash management, banking administration, payment processing, and investor capital contributions and distributions.

• Review property financial reports and coordinate with property accounting teams to resolve questions and discrepancies.

• Coordinate annual audit and tax preparation activities, including schedules, documentation, and responses to external advisers.

• Review deliverables from outsourced accounting and fund administration providers.

• Organize financial and tax information for investors and respond to reporting requests.

• Work with investment colleagues, property managers, banking partners, and other service providers on ongoing accounting matters.

• Assist with special projects and improvements to accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience; real estate or public accounting experience strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with journal entries, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

• CPA or progress toward certification.

• Experience with real estate accounting platforms such as MRI or Yardi is a plus.

• Tax exposure is beneficial.

• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with standard business applications.

• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal colleagues and external partners.
