Responsibilities:
- Oversee tax return process from initial tax package delivery to K-1 distribution.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of tax packages prepared by accountants.
- Prepare and review tax packages for complex projects, including related tax returns.
- Serve as the main contact between the company and CPA firms.
- Negotiate fees and review/sign engagement letters with CPA firms annually.
- Collaborate with developers and CPA firms on new projects to optimize tax outcomes.
- Coordinate with accountants throughout a project’s life cycle to ensure tax planning is followed.
- Continuously improve the tax preparation process.
- Support the development of accounting systems for upper-tier partnerships.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
- 10+ years of public accounting experience in Tax.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Deep knowledge of real estate tax codes, partnership taxation, and capital accounts.
- Familiarity with individual taxation is a plus.
