Responsibilities
- Manage the Company’s tax function to ensure proper compliance and timely filings for all individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations associated with the Company
- Lead the Company’s tax planning efforts and advise on tax strategy related to wealth transfer, estate planning, investments, and charitable giving
- Assist and coordinate with external tax advisors on all compliance, audits, filings, and payment requirements as needed
- Communicate with federal, state, and local tax authorities on tax-related correspondence
- Prepare for and manage any tax audits or inquiries, serving as the primary point of contact with tax authorities
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard family assets and minimize exposure to potential tax liabilities
- Review and reconcile all tax-related journal entries and general ledger accounts for accuracy
- Manage and continually assess the Company’s tax processes and ensure necessary improvements are implemented and coordinated effectively
- Implement and update processes as needed to reflect changes in applicable state and local sales/use/property tax laws and policies
- Collaborate with legal and financial advisors to design and implement estate planning strategies that preserve family wealth and align with the Company’s long-term goals
- Review family trust structures, ensuring compliance and optimal tax efficiency
- Advise on gifting, generation-skipping transfers, and other tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies
- Implement and manage tax software
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree & CPA license required
- 2+ years of Public Accounting experience required
- 8+ years of tax leadership, including client relationship management and/or tax preparation for high net worth individuals and family offices
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge and application
- Strong tax software knowledge and application
