We are assisting our client looking to add a Senior Staff Accountant to their team. This role is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating and maintaining accurate and timely financial records for the organization, while applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). It will provide specialized or general analysis support in various accounting areas, such as: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost Accounting and General Accounting. This position operates under the direct supervision of the Controller.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting
- General ledger experience (at least 2 years)
- Record monthly transaction in journal entries
- Financial statement experience – Including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement
- Full cycle accounting
- Year-end close experience
- Experience with outside auditors

- Complete bank reconciliations.
- Perform balance sheet and payroll reconciliations.
- Analyze information by developing spreadsheets.
- Prepare and enter general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
- Ensure compliance with and maintain renewals of contractor licensing for multi-state and jurisdictions.
- Maintain customer pre-qualifications current and complete new per customer requirements. Assist in pre-qualifying subcontractors.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Comprise documentation for external auditors.
- Prepare and file sales & use tax returns monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules.
- Prepare and send documents to property owners and general contractors, to protect lien rights.
- Maintain company fleet records, including registrations and inspections.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.
