Financial Analyst
Our client, a single-family office, is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the investment team and executive leadership. The family office manages a globally diversified portfolio across public and private markets, including direct investments in operating companies.
Reporting to the CFO, this role will provide financial analysis, investment reporting, and decision support to senior leadership. The position offers significant exposure to investment strategy, portfolio management, and executive decision-making while providing a strong opportunity for long-term career growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Decision Support
- Build financial models and perform ad hoc analyses, including scenario modeling, cash flow forecasting, portfolio allocation analysis, and investment return analysis.
- Support due diligence efforts on direct investments by reviewing financial information, analyzing target company financials, building and stress-testing models, and summarizing key findings.
- Conduct research on financial markets, asset classes, investment managers, benchmarks, and prospective investment opportunities.
- Prepare presentations, investment memorandums, and reporting materials for executive leadership and the Investment Committee.
- Support senior leadership on strategic initiatives, special projects, and time-sensitive analyses.
Investment Reporting
- Own the quarterly Investment Committee reporting package from data collection through final presentation.
- Consolidate investment data from multiple custodians, investment managers, and reporting sources using Excel and Power Query.
- Prepare portfolio reporting, including:
- Investment performance
- Asset allocation
- Performance attribution
- Benchmark analysis
- Manager performance
- Maintain reporting accuracy through reconciliations, tie-outs, benchmark validation, and quality control.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve data workflows and dashboards.
Stakeholder Reporting
- Assist in preparing investment reports for family members, trustees, and other stakeholders.
- Support inquiries regarding investment performance, portfolio positioning, and cash flow planning.
- Ensure consistency between stakeholder reporting and Investment Committee reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in an analyst role within a family office, private bank, investment bank, asset management firm, or similar investment-focused environment.
- Progress toward the CFA designation is preferred.
- Strong understanding of investment concepts, including portfolio performance, benchmarking, asset allocation, and public/private investments.
- Advanced Excel skills (including financial modeling and Power Query) and strong PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
