We are assisting our client in the search for a Staff Accountant with a retail company in the Dallas area. This role will report to the Accounting Manager and work across multiple departments in the company.
Duties:
- Assist Accounting Manager in full cycle accounting including monthly close and preparation of financial reporting
- Assists in maintaining the general ledger
- Reconciles bank accounts (daily), payroll, and other financial accounts
- Verify accuracy of data across multiple systems, sources and reports
- Work with Accounting Manager to improve various financial processes
- Prepare journal entries and financial reports as directed by Accounting Manager
- Assists in the preparation of year-end audit requests/documents
- Complete ad-hoc projects and analysis, as needed
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably in healthcare
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- High proficiency in excel and Microsoft Suite
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Problem solver who demonstrates a high sense of urgency
- Customer service orientation and team player
- Good verbal and written communication
