Director of Accounting and Finance
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Director of Finance and Accounting is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations by planning, directing, and coordinating Finance and Accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.
This role will also support the Vice President of Finance in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, including taking ownership of ongoing reporting responsibilities.
Principal Responsibilities
Management
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures in accordance with corporate policies and U.S. GAAP
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring achievement of departmental goals
- Delegate work assignments, set clear expectations, and hold team members accountable
- Maintain ownership of the integrity, efficiency, and control structure of accounting systems
- Support the development and maintenance of budget and forecast processes and reporting tools
Accounting Operations
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management functions
- Develop and maintain a system of internal controls over accounting transactions
- Ensure timely completion and review of account reconciliations
- Manage the month-end close process, including variance analysis and reporting
Financial Reporting
- Coordinate all closing activities and preparation of financial statements
- Own the preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting packages
- Analyze financial results and provide insights to leadership
- Manage the annual operating plan (AOP), monthly forecasts, and ongoing reporting updates
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses to support business initiatives
Audit & Compliance
- Lead the annual external audit process and coordinate with auditors
- Support additional audit requirements and third-party reviews as needed
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and reporting requirements
Additional Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement of processes and systems
- Develop and mentor team members to enhance overall financial capability
- Build succession planning within the Finance and Accounting function

Accounting staff, AP/AR personnel, and support staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or similar certification preferred
- 10+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Hands-on Controller or similar experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong understanding of general ledger, AP/AR, inventory, and cash operations
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP systems; exposure to Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
