Our client, located in Mesquite, is looking for two Staff Accountants to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. 

This role is hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote per week). 

This role will require travel for the first 3-6 months to Kansas.  

Keys: 

• Accounting or Finance degree is required.
• Must be experienced at full-cycle, transactional General Ledger accounting, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.  
• GAAP understanding is necessary. 
• Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Lawson is a bonus. 

Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant supports the accounting team in preparing subledgers and ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. This role is responsible for performing a range of accounting duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Staff Accountant works closely with other accounting team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and to assist with various accounting tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, supporting the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain and update accounts payable and payroll functions, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
• Conduct account analysis to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for process improvement.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as directed. 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in accounting or a related field, with experience in general ledger functions and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Lawson) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
