Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists with monthly closing and preparation of management reports
• Assists with recording lot purchases and sales between homebuilding entities and development entities
• Provides payoff information related to house closings
• Assists with recording wires, sales, and cost of sales for house closings
• Performs account analysis and reconciliation as needed
• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
• Assists with preparation of special reports for management as needed
• Responds to vendor inquiries and coordinates with others within the department and other departments to provide a timely response
• Assists with verification, coding, and payment of non-routine vendor invoices
• Special projects, tasks or duties as assigned by Supervisors or Managers
• Cross training in other departments if needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS/TRAINING
Education/Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Proficient with general ledger, A/P and A/R systems and processes
• Prior accounting experience – 3- 5 years required
• Knowledge and understanding of construction and residential real estate accounting principles is a plus
Technical Skills
• Computer Literacy – must be computer literate and able to type, know Windows 10 operating system, have functional familiarity with: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Email software
• Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics preferred
