Our client, located in North Dallas, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis.
This role is hybrid, which 2 days remote per week.
Keys:
- A degree is required, with a strong preference for an accounting degree
- Must be comfortable with general ledger accounting, including journal entries, close, financial reporting, and audits
Summary:
The Staff Accountant is a key member of the accounting department. This position will be working under the supervision of the Regional Controller or Senior Director. Staff Accountants maintain and execute a variety of accounting procedures for 70+ marina properties around the country including the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, recording journal entries, completing reconciliations, and compiling information for the financial reporting package.
Essential Duties:
- Assist in the preparing and posting of journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
- Reconcile key accounts such as cash, prepaids, payroll liabilities, and other various assets and liability accounts.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Provide supporting documentation for external audits
- Provide support to Regional Controllers
- Ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with an emphasis in accounting
- Familiarity with US GAAP and internal controls
- Self-starter, high-energy, eager to learn and grow
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Must possess excellent organizational skills
- Willing to work additional hours when necessary
- Familiarity with NetSuite and/or Floqast is a plus
