Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal and state income/franchise tax returns for various entities and jurisdictions.
- Assist the third-party tax advisor with annual income tax compliance process by providing necessary support and documentation, answering questions, and processing final returns for submission.
- Assist with the preparation of income tax provision and tax account reconciliations.
- Forecast quarterly income tax estimates for purposes of determining tax payments/distributions needed for federal and state and process necessary payments.
- Respond to notices from various tax authorities regarding federal and state tax issues and maintain log of notice status.
- Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns for all jurisdictions.
- Assist in responding to income and sales tax audits.
- Review and maintenance of financial records in QuickBooks for various shareholder entities, including preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
- Provide analytical and tax research support and assist with special tax projects as necessary.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Currently offering a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home, unless job duties require otherwise (subject to change based on business need).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 to 5 years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with preparation of tax returns for pass-through entities, trusts and individuals.
- CPA or CPA Candidate Highly Preferred
