Overview
The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee core Accounting & HR functions, while leading a small team, and offering hands-on support. This role provides a unique opportunity to influence both the financial health and employee experience of the company. While this role oversees both Accounting and HR functions, the primary focus remains on Accounting and the financial operations.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Lead AR/AP processes and ensure accuracy/timeliness
- Oversee monthly close, reporting, and revenue recognition
- Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and liquidity planning
HR/People Leadership
- Oversee HR function, including employee benefits, payroll coordination, and core HR processes
- Partner with leadership to support employee experience, compliance, and policy administration
Leadership & Cross-Functional Support
- Supervise Accounting Manager & HR Generalist
- Partner with Operations on event/project financials
Process Improvement & Growth Initiatives
- Identify and implement scalable systems and efficiencies
Strategic Exposure
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic projects and decision making
Qualifications
- Accounting degree; CPA a plus
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Operational experience with QuickBooks and Concur expense management system a must
- Exposure to or partnership with HR functions (payroll, benefits, or employee administration) are a plus
- Experience in agency, project-based, or service-oriented environments
- Demonstrated ability to scale processes within a growing organization
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
