The Senior Accountant supports a loan-servicing-focused SBA interim construction lending organization. This role is responsible for accurate financial reporting and the ongoing accounting and servicing of an interim commercial loan portfolio, with emphasis on borrower invoicing, participant reporting, and warehouse line activity. The position partners closely with servicing, capital, and operations teams to ensure accurate interest calculations, timely statements, and strong internal controls across the life of the loan.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Perform ongoing accounting for serviced SBA 7(a) and 504 interim construction loans, including interest accruals, interest reserves, and payoffs
• Record, reconcile, and monitor warehouse line borrowings, repayments, interest expense, and compliance reporting
• Process monthly borrower interest invoicing and prepare accurate borrower statements
• Calculate, process, and reconcile monthly loan participant interest payments and participant statements
• Maintain loan sub-ledger and general ledger reconciliations and investigate variances
• Process and review employee expense reports in accordance with company policies
• Support internal and external audits, servicing examinations, and investor/lender reporting
• Identify servicing-related process improvements, controls, and automation opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 plus years of accounting experience
• CPA or CPA-eligible a plus
• Strong GAAP knowledge with hands-on loan servicing and interest accrual experience preferred
• Experience with SAGE Intacct Accounting System and SAGE Expense Management formerly known as FYLE preferred
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
• Experience with Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and ShareFile
• Advanced Excel skills
