Nationwide distributor of ceramic tile and related products. We are seeking to hire a Finance/Accounting professional to join our Carrollton, Texas, based team. This position will support the day-to-day general accounting operations reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail and deadline oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and enter journals, ensure proper coding of revenues, expenses, and balance sheet items, including line of business and distribution locations. Responsible for month end, quarter end, and year end journal entries.
- Prepare daily cash reporting and schedule outgoing vendor wires.
- Monthly sales tax preparation and reporting
- Monthly financial statement preparation and analysis. This includes preparing and analyzing business reports, P&L trend analysis, P&L vs. budget analysis, and detailed expense and revenue account analytics.
- Responsible for timely preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Analyzes balances for accuracy and provides appropriate documentation.
- Analyzes weekly profit margin reports for accuracy and makes adjustments when required.
- Partners with management team. This includes communication regarding inventory adjustments, capital expenditures, expenses and revenue review. Ad hoc reporting provided to management as needed.
- Performs daily inventory reconciliations, inventory adjustment analysis, and assists with physical inventory counts as needed.
- Work with our CPA firm on tax schedule and payments
- Assists in annual budget process.
- Prepares business license returns.
- Recommends process improvements.
- Makes recommendations to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
- Assist in annual external and bank audits.
- Expense report review.
- Other tasks as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field from an accredited university.
- 3 plus years’ experience in accounting or related field
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel, proficient in other Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Power Point)
Preferred Experience / Qualifications:
- Exposure to inventory accounting a plus
- CPA/CMA preferred
- SAGE 100/MAS 90 experience preferred
- Crystal Reports or Tableau experience a plus
- Ability to show good judgement and strong problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, follow through, and works independently
