The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role works closely with management to provide financial insights, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and variance analyses.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and cash management processes.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience in construction is preferred.
- WIP reporting experience is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
