Our client is seeking a hands-on Manager/Senior Manager of Accounting to lead a team of accountants in the general/corporate accounting function. This role oversees financial close processes, ensures the accuracy of financial statements, and supports dynamic business needs through timely reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will also drive process improvements, maintain compliance with internal controls, and collaborate with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
- Review and approve account reconciliations, financial statement reviews, and variance analyses.
- Oversee and develop the accounting team, providing hands-on training and coaching.
- Implement process improvements and technology solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Partner with leadership to meet department goals and provide insightful analysis.
- Support accounting system upgrades and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred but not required).
- 5+ years of combined experience in corporate accounting and auditing/assurance.
- 3+ years of experience managing accountants.
- Public company/SOX internal controls experience preferred.
- Proficiency in large, automated accounting systems; Great Plains knowledge is a plus.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in multi-unit, private club, hospitality, or property management accounting is a plus.
Work Environment:
The role may require overtime during peak periods to meet deadlines.
