Inventory Accountant

Our client in the food manufacturing industry is seeking an Inventory Accountant to join their office in Farmers Branch. This is a full-time position and will be in-office five days per week. This role requires a thorough understanding of inventory management, accounting best practices, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize inventory practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile inventory accounts through NetSuite to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Conduct regular inventory and cycle counts audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Analyze and report on inventory variances, creating continuous improvement processes to minimize future variances.
• Collaborate with the procurement and operations departments to address inventory discrepancies.
• Support the warehouse inventory process annually.
• Prepare monthly inventory valuation reports, identifying slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on warehouse inventory management.
• Experience in NetSuite or similar accounting software.
