We are assisting our client seeking an HR Manager who will oversee all human resources operations, supporting growth across six locations. This full-time, in-office (Houston HQ) role plays a critical part in talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, compliance, and culture building.
Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead recruitment for all roles—technicians, customer service reps, support staff— across TX and OK locations.
- Partner with local teams to manage candidate sourcing, interviews, and hiring.
- Facilitate smooth onboarding: conduct orientation, paperwork, and HR systems setup.
Employee Relations & Retention
- Serve as the internal HR advisor for employees and managers.
- Develop and implement engagement strategies to foster retention and positive culture.
- Mediate and resolve workplace issues with empathy and professionalism.
Performance Management
- Oversee performance review cycles; coach managers in effective feedback delivery.
- Design and deliver training in partnership with department leads.
HR Policy & Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date HR policies and employee handbook aligned with TX and OK laws.
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, wage and hour laws, and licensing regulations specific to pest control services.
Compensation & Benefits
- Administer payroll, benefits enrollment, and serve as liaison with vendors.
- Analyze staffing and compensation trends to propose competitive compensation strategies.
HR Operations & Reporting
- Maintain employee HRIS records across all locations.
- Track HR metrics and report to leadership monthly.
Culture & Internal Communications
- Support cross-location initiatives: town halls, recognition programs, internal newsletters.
- Promote the brand’s natural, customer-centric values internally.
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in services, field operations, or multi-location businesses.
- Strong working knowledge of Texas (and ideally Oklahoma) employment law and compliance.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, payroll/benefits, employee relations.
- Experience with HRIS platforms such as Alliance HCM, Paylocity, and SwipeClock.
- Proven ability to bring consistency across dispersed locations while supporting local-level needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- High attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
- Comfort in a fast-paced, growing operational environment.
Preferred:
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
- Experience in outdoor services, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with licensing and training standards in pest control or environmental services.
- Experience in Private Equity “PE” Portfolio Company
