December 8, 2025Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Director of Business Intelligence (BI) to lead and modernize enterprise data, analytics, and AI-enabled decisioning. This is the most critical hire for the organization and will play a central role in transforming how data is collected, integrated, governed, and activated across marketing, operations, and finance.
The role owns BI strategy end-to-end spanning data architecture, pipeline reliability, dashboarding, and the practical application of AI features while partnering closely with business leaders to ensure insights drive measurable outcomes. The current BI environment is built in Domo, with data flowing from the CRM (Welcome Home) and EHR ecosystem via Domo ETL and API-based integrations.
This is a remote role with limited travel (approximately four times per year for 2–3 day quarterly meetings) and attendance at two annual Domo conferences for hands-on training and continued platform mastery.
Responsibilities:
BI & Analytics Leadership
- Set and execute the enterprise BI vision, roadmap, and operating model, ensuring BI functions as a strategic capability.
- Establish KPIs, analytics standards, and insight delivery frameworks that support organizational goals.
- Partner with executive and functional leaders to translate business priorities into scalable data and BI solutions.
Data Engineering & Pipeline Reliability
- Architect, maintain, and improve data pipelines feeding Domo from CRM, EHR, finance, marketing, and operations systems.
- Diagnose and resolve pipeline issues, particularly those tied to API integrations (including known challenges with UKG).
- Ensure data quality, lineage, observability, and uptime for critical reporting and analytics workflows.
- Lead integration strategy where CRM and EHR systems share data, using Domo as the analytics repository / warehouse layer.
Domo Platform Ownership
- Own Domo development standards, ETL design, semantic layer consistency, dashboard lifecycle management, and user adoption.
- Improve and rationalize the current dashboard suite, ensuring metrics are trusted, relevant, and actionable.
- Introduce best practices in dashboard design, data storytelling, and self-service analytics enablement.
AI-Enabled Data Strategy
- Identify and deploy AI-driven BI opportunities leveraging Domo AI capabilities, Copilot/ChatGPT workflows, and AI features embedded within the EHR system.
- Build practical, safe, and efficient AI-assisted processes for insights, forecasting, anomaly detection, and automated reporting.
- Create scalable approaches that reduce manual effort and accelerate data-to-decision timelines.
Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow the BI function currently consisting of one analyst.
- Define team structure, hiring plan, and skills development to evolve the function into a modern BI and data engineering organization.
- Establish clear delivery processes, prioritization frameworks, and stakeholder communication norms.
Governance & Security
- Implement data governance policies covering access control, compliance, auditability, and operational integrity.
- Ensure sensitive clinical and financial data is handled appropriately in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Education & Background
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field strongly preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Accounting or finance background is a plus, especially when paired with strong BI and data engineering expertise.
Experience
- 8–12+ years in BI/analytics/data roles with progressive leadership responsibility; director-level experience required.
- Demonstrated success owning BI strategy, pipeline development, and analytics delivery in complex, multi-system environments.
- Hands-on experience with Domo (or similar BI platforms) including ETL/dataflows, semantic modeling, and dashboard governance.
- Strong API integration experience, including troubleshooting failures and optimizing data exchange.
- Experience designing and managing data pipelines and architectures, ideally in healthcare-adjacent or regulated environments.
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of data engineering concepts: ELT/ETL, orchestration, data modeling, pipeline testing, and observability.
- Advanced SQL and comfort working with structured and semi-structured data.
- Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems and/or modern warehouse patterns (even if Domo is primary).
- Knowledge of AI/ML and GenAI applications within BI environments, focused on pragmatic operational efficiency.
Business & Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Strategic, outcomes-driven mindset with strong prioritization and execution skills.
- Comfortable operating both hands-on and at the leadership level.
- Track record of building trusted metrics and driving data adoption across teams.
Work Expectations
- Remote-first position.
- Willingness to travel ~4 times per year for quarterly meetings (2–3 days each).
- Attendance at two Domo conferences annually for hands-on training and platform advancement.
