Controller
Job Summary:
The Controller will be an integral part of the finance department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The role involves overseeing financial transactions, compliance, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. The Controller will work closely with senior management to drive financial performance and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Oversee the accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Month-End and Year-End Close:
- Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial close tasks.
- Accounting and Compliance:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Internal Controls and Risk Management:
- Establish and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Implement and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Provide training and support to ensure the team’s success.
- Strategic Planning and Decision Support:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with company goals.
- Provide financial modeling and analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Participate in long-term planning and capital expenditure decisions.
- Financial Systems and Technology:
- Ensure data integrity within financial systems.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology for process improvements and efficiency gains.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience with financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
