Our client is looking for a Controller that is accountable for the accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
- Review Monthly, Quarterly and Annual closing cycles and financial statements including production of periodic reports
- Maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Oversee coordination of all lot closings and option contract payments (monthly/quarterly)
- Manage robust cash forecasting model to plan for revenue and disbursement events
· Review coding and approval of AP/AR and manage timely payment of debt service. Review bank draws
· Financial Analysis including collecting, summarizing and analyzing information and trends
· Review Reconciliation of bank statements and manage earnest money deposits and escrowed funds
- Annual audit and related reporting (lender compliance packages)
· Compliance oversight with local, state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- CPA Required
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Treasury Management including finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles
- Knowledge of automated financial, accounting and reporting systems. Experience with Peachtree and Acumatica a plus
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations
- Ability to compile and analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, projections and variance analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
- Exposure to real estate development projects a plus
