Our client, located in Addison, is looking for a Controller to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis.
This role is 100% in-office.
Key Qualifications:
- A CPA or CMA is required.
- Similar industry experience, such as aviation, construction, engineering, or transportation, is required.
- Similar company size experience ($20M) is preferred.
- NetSuite and/or Quantum experiences are helpful.
Job Summary:
- The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
- Ten years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation required.
- Aviation industry experience a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, provide ongoing training, and maintain strong employee relationships.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or standards.
- Monitor and assess current department practices and procedures to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Provides financial analysis, including capital investments, and contract negotiations.
- Works with external agencies and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Support budget and forecasting activities.
- Recognize potential areas of risk and develop risk management strategies.
- Cross functional support throughout the company.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Proficient in accounting (QuickBooks) and financial software (NetSuite).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
