About the Role
A privately held food manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting operations and serve as the senior finance leader within the organization. This is a highly execution-focused role ideal for an experienced Controller who enjoys being in the details and running a strong, organized accounting function.
This position reports directly to the CEO and manages a small accounting team.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and oversee month-end close
• Perform and review bank reconciliations
• Manage accruals, depreciation schedules, and general ledger accuracy
• Oversee borrowing base calculations and lender reporting related to an ABL revolver
• Support audits and external financial requests
• Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliations
• Approve payroll and oversee payroll processing via a PEO
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff
• Review check runs and manage cash activity

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Controller or senior-level accounting professional
• Strong GAAP and full-cycle accounting knowledge
• Hands-on mindset with the ability to execute and lead
• Experience managing a small team
