Controller will be an experienced and well-rounded professional capable of managing all aspects of financial reporting, accounting, banking, and risk management. The Controller will work closely with all internal and external stakeholders – the CFO, COO, lenders, financial sponsor, and Board of Directors – to report financials, improve processes, and develop strategic analyses that drive critical decisions.
The Controller must show an ability to not only report the news but also display an innate understanding of business and the underlying operations borne out in the Company’s financials. This role is both technical and strategic in nature.
Key responsibilities include:
- Timely preparation and supervision of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including any balance sheet reviews. These reports will be refined as necessary.
- Supervision and/or management of all billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Work Comp, payroll, and related accounting functions and department personnel.
- Lead month-end closing and its attendant activities, including estimate accounts, reconciliations, and matching of control accounts.
- Ensure adherence and conformance of all policies and procedures as related to accounting, finance, revenue recognition, banking, and year-end audit.
- Development and implementation of programs or procedures to enhance cash flow, generate cost savings, increase profitability, and strengthen internal controls.
- Participate and engage with senior management, financial sponsor, and Board of Directors on long term strategic planning, modeling / forecasting, risk assessment, business development, company growth strategies, and related industry activities.
- Develop strong working relationships with suppliers, banking, bonding, insurance, auditors, IT, and other key service providers to the company.
- Key elements of due diligence on and integration of acquisitions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or business administration, MBA desirable
- CPA required
