The Controller will be a critical financial leader and trusted resource to the leadership team. The Controller will be responsible for the company’s accounting operations and provide adequate and timely financial information to make effective decisions to support sustainable growth.
The Controller will be a critical financial leader and trusted resource to the leadership team. The Controller will be responsible for the company’s accounting operations and provide adequate and timely financial information to make effective decisions to support sustainable growth.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting department’s operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger transactions and reconciliations.
- Responsible for GAAP accounting, financial reporting for multiple entities, financial and regulatory reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage, coordinate, and lead the annual audits and implement mandatory process changes according to accounting standards.
- Develop, and strengthen the internal accounting and control environment, including proper controls and policies and procedures documented and followed in the accounting departments.
- Prepare monthly financials with detailed analyses, calculate variances from the budget, investigate and report, and advise the management team on financial matters.
- Ensure that required debt payments are made and compliance certificates are completed and filed on time.
- Manage outsource tax and audit relationships, including overseeing the processing of various taxes such as payroll, sales, business, licenses, and income.
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and recommend systems and process improvements.
- Champion a culture of teamwork, mentorship, and professional growth within the finance department. Lead by example and empower team members to excel in their roles.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration required
- 10+ years of related in accounting and financial reporting, including accountability for timely and accurate financial statements and proactively managing the company’s auditors to deliver an efficient audit process.
- CPA designation highly preferred and MBA preferred
