Our client in the service industry is seeking a Controller who will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will lead the daily accounting operations for accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. The duties include directing accounting staff and department operations, compiling financial reports based on financial statements and implementing policies and procedures for financial reporting. The Controller is motivated by a strong understanding of accounting principles, is detail-oriented and is able to work independently and collaboratively.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and tax compliance.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and financial data.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare and review financial statements to include balance sheets, income statement, etc.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, government regulation and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversee the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders, including shareholders and regulatory bodies.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Other tasks: Managing cash flow, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that promotes collaboration and an environment of trust.
- Drive operationally excellent, predictable and repeatable processes, using metrics, to achieve the required outcome of financial performance across the Company.
- Manage and perform special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance principles
- Ability to adhere to highest standards of confidentiality and discretion in all proprietary business, financial and employee matters
- Proactive, organized and driven self-starter with ability to pull reports to synthesize data and build the strategy for the enterprise to follow.

Requirements:
- 10+ year of Accounting and/or Finance experience, with 5 or more years as a senior-level accounting manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or relevant field. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Professional certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Experience building rapport and interacting with key stakeholders and internal and external partners.
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Great Plains or other similar accounting software.
