Position Overview

The Controller will serve as a key financial leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations across multiple locations. This individual will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, lead process improvement initiatives, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with multi-entity accounting, ERP implementation, and team leadership, combined with a strong technical foundation in GAAP and financial close management.

The responsibilities will include:

• • Lead the day to day accounting for with a team of 30 people
    • Cash
    • AR
    • AP
    • Inventory
    • Fixed Assets
    • Leases
    • Floorplan Lending
    • Store Accounting
  • Enterprise consolidated reporting with multiple legal entities, which includes:
    • The operating company
      • And consolidating the entities under operating company
    • The property company
      • And consolidating the entities property company
    • The software company
      • And consolidating the entities under software company
    • The captive insurance company
    • The marketing company
  • Experience doing consolidations using Excel is a high priority
  • Manage the close process for operational company
  • Improve processes to reduce the time for monthly close and reporting
  • Experience in process improvement is a high priority; the person must like to problem solve and make improvements
  • Experience assessing, developing, and hiring talent is a high priority (partner with the CFO to build a team)
  • Participate in an ERP implementation, which is the future state goal. Today, there are 2 ERPs used: the operating company uses an industry related system called Motility while the other companies use QuickBooks.
  • Experience implementing an ERP is a high priority
  • Technical accounting for leases, acquisitions, and LIFO inventory
