The Accounting Manager performs complex accounting activities relating to the general ledger and financial statements. Supervises and reviews the accounting activities of professional employees and an outsourced global business process organization. Actively participates in the preparation of the financial statements of supported entities. Proactively establishes a working relationship with the service provider, respective facility CFOs and their teams, as well as other departments. Trains and leads team members, including special project teams, whether employed or outsourced.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Manages the accounting function for an assigned region or area of responsibility.
- Supervises employed staff, as well as outsourced staff.
- Oversees monthly close process.
- Reviews financial statements and performs financial analysis.
- Performs final review of account reconciliations and provides feedback as appropriate.
- Manages accounting audits both internally and externally, interacting with external auditors and internal auditors.
- Prepares financial statements and underlying support.
- Acts as liaison with facility CFO and outsourced vendor.
- Assists in resolving reconciling items and business process issues.
- Elevates issues and communicates relevant financial information to other departments including tax and government finance.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- CPA required
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance. Masters or MBA highly preferred.
- 5+ years of experience; public accounting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
- Ability to perform accounting research.
- Experience with leading accounting work and process improvement.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train others.
