Client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager to execute day-to-day full-cycle accounting operations during an active period of organizational transformation. This role is critical to ensuring business-as-usual continuity, accuracy, and timeliness across a complex accounting environment while broader change initiatives occur in parallel.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute accounting tasks related to month-end close, general ledger management, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Drive continuous improvements by identifying inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and implementing process optimizations.
- Own and improve accounting functions such as cash reconciliation, payroll, lease accounting, prepaids, and accruals.
- Oversee intercompany accounting and ensure integrity of balances across multiple entities.
- Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses to support a faster, more efficient close.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Tax, and Treasury to support key stakeholders.
- Create and maintain documentation and accounting memos that reflect changes made through transformation activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP while applying forward-thinking approaches to accounting operations and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Information Systems; CPA or CMA eligibility preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an organization undergoing finance or business transformation.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and internal controls; experience in investment accounting or financial services is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in contributing to transformation initiatives, such as ERP upgrades, automation projects, or workflow redesigns.
- Strong experience with large ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365.
