Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close processes: prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Generate monthly financial statements, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
- Perform variance analysis and interpret results, providing actionable insights to management
- Support audit processes, both external and internal, by preparing schedules and financial documentation
- Maintain intercompany accounting (if applicable), including reconciliations and elimination entries
- Oversee or mentor junior bookkeeping/accounting staff, ensuring quality control and training
- Drive process improvement initiatives: implement best practices, streamline workflows, and support ERP/software integration
- Assist in ad-hoc projects, such as budgeting, forecasting, or special clean-up and backlog tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred. Alternatives like CMA, CGMA, or CPA-progress candidates will also be considered
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in private or public settings; full-cycle accounting experience is essential
- Strong understanding of GAAP, especially revenue recognition, accruals, and variance analysis
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks or ERP platforms), as well as advanced Excel skills (formulas, PivotTables)
