The Controller will be a key strategic partner to leadership. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial processes related to job cost accounting, corporate accounting, financial close, and reporting.
- Serve as the primary liaison between operations and executive leadership, ensuring accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and revenue recognition.
- Partner with project managers to ensure precise tracking of project budgets, change orders, and billing.
- Maintain and update forecasting tools (revenue, cash flow, profit & loss) to provide forward-looking insights and support informed decision-making.
- Assist the executive team with strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Present monthly financial reports to executive leadership, highlighting key variances, trends, and potential areas of concern.
- Analyze financial performance relative to internal goals and external benchmarks; provide recommendations for improving profitability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Business Manager to implement systems that enhance financial accuracy, visibility, and control.
- Coordinate with external CPA firms to support the preparation of tax filings and annual financial reviews.
- Manage all aspects of sales tax compliance.
- Oversee ERP integrations across relevant company software platforms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience, preferrably in construction accounting
- Strong knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting and WIP reporting.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience working both independently and in cross-functional teams.
