The Assistant Controller is responsible for collecting data to evaluate the business, projects, budgets, and other finance related entities to determine sustainability in investments. The role requires individuals to be able to view and interpret financial data and produce meaningful reports, presentations, and recommendations.

Responsibilities:

Forecasting – 

• Ongoing forecasting of current and future projects
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain accuracy of inputs
• Prepare presentations for executives and investors to see viability of projects
• Work closely with large investor to reconcile loan balances and interest payment 

Cash Flow – 

• Forecast cash flow based on home starts, sales and closings
• Prepare and review interactive presentations with executives 

Budgeting – 

• Work closely with Controller and CFO to create 2025 budget and variance analysis reporting

Monthly Reporting – 

• Cashflow Meeting
• Month end journal entries

Accounting – 

• Assist controller with reporting needs
• Work with CFO to answer financial questions for banking reporting
• Complex accounting for home closings and lot purchases
• Work with Controller to document all accounting processes

Other – 

• Contract review for Gross Margin on customer contracts
• Work with Marketing to assume financial responsibility for new contracts and pricing of homes

Ad Hoc Projects –

• Work closely with insurance company on annual renewal
• Other duties as assigned by executive management

Requirements:

• 5+ years upper-level accounting or relevant experience required
• 2+ years accounting management experience strongly recommended
• 2+ years financial analysis experience strongly recommended
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel required
