Position Overview: We are assisting our client seeking a highly skilled and diligent Staff Accountant with Accounts Payable experience to join our finance team. The person in this role will be responsible for a diverse set of accounting duties with a specific focus on managing the AP process. This role requires detail orientation, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Prepare and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring the adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain vendor files and manage relationships with suppliers.
- Prepare and execute payment runs, including wire transfers, ACH, and checks.
- General Accounting:
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year end closing processes.
- Support general ledger maintenance and ensure the accuracy of financial accounting.
- Expense Reporting:
- Monitoring and processing employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company procedures and policies.
- Assist with reconciliations and allocations if needed.
- Financial Reporting
- Provide and analyze financial reports to support management decision making
- Prepare financial statements and timelines
- Audit and Compliance:
- Provide necessary documentation and explanations while supporting internal and external audit processes.
- Have a keen eye for internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing all necessary supporting information, and address audit findings in a timely manner.
- Process Improvement:
- Streamline financial processes within AP and general accounting functions.
- Identify advancements to implement improvements in accounting procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting with a focus on Accounts Payable
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving results.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
