Job Summary:
The Investment Manager will report to the President of the family office, providing comprehensive support to the financial functions of the office. This dynamic position will be responsible for managing the financial reporting, planning and analysis, and will work directly with the President on special projects. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present financial reports to the family, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making and strategic planning.
- Oversee fund accounting functions, including accurate bookkeeping, and record-keeping, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies through effective document management and retention practices. Maintain up-to-date financial records to support timely reporting and decision-making.
- Stay updated on market trends and economic indicators to inform investment strategies and decision-making. Provide insights on market outlooks that may impact the family office’s investment portfolio, enabling proactive adjustments to asset allocation.
- Coordinate with external investment managers and accounting providers to share information, evaluate alternatives, and ensure alignment with the family office’s financial goals and strategies.
- Monitor Investment Policy Statements (IPS). Establish and adjust asset allocation strategies to align with the family’s investment goals, risk tolerance, and market conditions.
- Collaborate with the President to source and evaluate new opportunities, conducting risk assessments and ensuring adherence to established investment disciplines.
- Support the family and President with special projects and analysis as requested.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 8 plus years of experience in financial analysis, investment management, or related fields, preferably within a family office or private equity environment.
- Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, portfolio management software, and Microsoft Excel.
- A service-oriented attitude and a self-starter mentality, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
