Finance Project Manager
We are seeking a Finance Project Manager to join our growing team in Dallas. In this role, you will be responsible for leading or assisting in projects that will transform the current accounting function while increasing the teams’ ability to meet organizational needs. This position requires strong leadership, a track record of successful project management and experience in accounting, systems and overall project management.
In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that finance and accounting requirements are clearly defined and aligned with activities undertaken by other functions and overall organizational objectives. You will also manage projects leveraging cross functional teams (e.g., Corporate Accounting, Accounts Payable, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Procurement, FP&A, etc.) to help streamline processes, increase system efficiency, reduce cost and align outputs with existing and emerging needs. This role requires a strong working knowledge of project management tools and techniques, systems such as D365, Blackline, Coupa, Workday, and Concur, and significant experience with all aspects of accounting and accounting related processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead transformation and process improvement projects that will improve the efficiency of the accounting function and reduce the level of effort required.
- Assist in the design of accounting and finance processes and drive project results.
- Assist in developing tools, techniques and methodologies to improve the PM function.
- Work with Accounting and other corporate functions to define requirements and prioritize activities.
- Identify opportunities to use technology to improve overall performance and reduce level of effort.
- Monitor and report on project performance and budget
- Stay up to date on Project Management and Accounting trends and best practices to more effectively identify opportunities and requirements.
- Cultivate a data-driven culture within the Procurement, Accounting and Finance functions, leveraging analytics to gain insights into transaction trends, challenges and opportunities.
- Document current and future state processes along with applicable controls.
- Implement a timeline driven mentality with a quality focus.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree or CPA designation is a plus).
- At least 6 years of experience in an Accounting role that required end to end process and integration knowledge.
- 2 years experience managing Accounting related improvement projects with ERP or EPM management experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft D365.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles, business processes and project management techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Critical thinking skills are critical to this role.
