Senior Tax Accountant – Hybrid
The Senior Tax Accountant, under the direction of the Tax Manager, will ensure that clients’ tax returns and other tax filings are submitted timely and accurately. She/he will assist with the facilitating of client tax planning, research, compliance, and projections. It is necessary for this person to have strong communication skills in addition to a broad and strong knowledge of taxation. The tax team currently processes income tax issues for all service lines of the Family Office. The tax team also drives the process for new entity formation, state registrations, and Secretary of State filings to maintain each entity in good standing.
Requirements
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Tax Accountant in public accounting, a family office, private equity, or financial services industry
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance with accounting experience
· Experience developing tax strategy, understanding the impacts, and the transactional tax implications
· Tax experience with a focus on high net-worth clients and their closely held businesses
· Excellent writing, communication, and process management
· Strong understanding of domestic and international tax code and regulations; tax compliance; and tax issues
· Strong tax research skills
Principal Responsibilities
· Assist with tax filing deadlines to ensure timely and accurate filings, reports, and obligations for all client activities
· Develop and support clients’ tax planning opportunities, including both income and gift and estate tax planning
· Review individual, business (C-Corp, S-Corp, and Partnership), and fiduciary income tax returns and gift tax returns
· Assist with the preparation of quarterly tax estimates for individuals and businesses
· Assist with the formation of new business entities as required
· Tax planning support surrounding mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures
· Coordinate with investment managers, attorneys, agents, managers, etc. as needed
· Identify and communicate tax matters to manager and tax director.
· Build relationships with third party tax advisors and staff
· Assist with Ad-hoc reporting or special projects as necessary
