The successful candidate will be responsible providing advice, analysis, and guidance of the company’s joint venture investment along with all internal and external reporting, establishing/improving controls and procedures, and ensuring accurate recordation of financial data. Also, the candidate will have frequent contact with internal management and represent the company from a financial standpoint during discussions with the JV partner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manages the accounting for the joint venture including ensuring financial transactions are complete, accurate and GAAP compliant.
- Ensures general ledger functions such as account analysis, account reconciliations, and trend analysis are performed timely and accurately.
- Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly business updates and related reporting to JV partners. Facilitate cash distributions to minority partners.
- Collaborate with business partners across the organization to on-board new joint ventures. Assist in diligence efforts as requested.
- Read contracts, operating agreements and other legal agreements that support the JV structures.
- Ensure proper entity-level records are kept for accounting and tax purposes.
- Assist with required financial statement disclosures and external audit procedures. Provide documentation to external valuation and/or tax experts as needed.
- Develop appropriate policies and internal controls to support growing portfolio of joint venture arrangements.
- Other duties as required.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; CPA/MBA a plus
- Experience with joint venture and/or M&A preferred
- Minimum 5 years management experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and with urgency to meet reporting deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
