Our client in the wholesale and distribution industry is seeking a Leave & Compliance Specialist to join their dynamic Human Resources team. This is a full-time position based in Grand Prairie, with the option to work from the University Park office. This individual will be responsible for administering multi-state leave of absence and accommodation programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal HR laws, and crafting and evaluating HR policies.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire leave of absence and accommodation process, ensuring compliance and a smooth experience from initial request to return.
- Stay informed on FMLA, ADA, and other relevant laws to ensure all practices meet legal standards.
- Guide employees through the leave process, explaining eligibility, managing paperwork, and handling medical certifications.
- Administer time-off programs, ensuring compliance with internal policy and applicable laws.
- Manage HR handbook and policies, recommending improvements as needed.
- Develop and implement controls to resolve compliance issues, training managers and employees on new regulations.
- Monitor legal requirements and evaluate their impact on our organization to maintain compliance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field
- 5 years of multi-state leave and accommodation administration
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree highly desirable
Ideal Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of multi-state leave and accommodation practices
- Experience with revising policies and communicating changes
- Capable of creating and following standardized procedures using independent judgement
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
