August 6, 2024Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruiting – includes the full recruiting cycle from maintaining the job descriptions, posting and reviewing applicants, conducting and coordinating interviews, following up with candidates through offer, acceptance and onboarding and creating an attractive recruiting program.
- Onboarding – initiates all new hire onboarding including background checks, proper paperwork and documentation, new hire orientation, and system setup for new employees.
- Benefits – all newly eligible employees are enrolled and deductions are processed, work with key stakeholders to review the plan each year, design and implement annual benefits survey, ensures all applicable laws are adhered to, and serves as the point of contact for all benefits related issues.
- Payroll – ensures payroll and commission are properly processed and acts as the point of contact for any payroll related issues.
- Compliance – maintains and reviews all relevant federal and state requirements to maintain compliance and keeps the employee handbook updated annually.
- Employee relations and training – includes employee mediations, developing and conducting training sessions, and coordination of relevant events to recognize and reward employees.
- Safety – designs, leads and keeps all safety programs up to date and compliant. Manages all worker’s compensation claims and follows all OSHA requirements and company safety standards.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred
- At least 1-2 years’ experience in a hands-on HR Generalist role, preferably in a small-medium size company.
- Current SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
- Intermediate level skill in use of computer and software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate skill level with HRIS, Paylocity a plus.
- Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Fluently speak, read, and write English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in time management and managing multiple simultaneous tasks.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Experience conducting training sessions.
