Cost Accountant

REPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports on variances by comparing standard costs to actual production costs and provide reports and observations to management
• Prepare and analyze inventory valuations and manage physical inventory counts.
• Establish standard costs and update as appropriate; set up new raw material, packaging, WIP, and FG items.
• Create and maintain production formulas (BOMs), labor models, and monthly cost rolls/updates.
• Interface with operations team to define key metrics to help drive operational decisions
• Provide cost analysis and support for strategic decision-making. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support inventory management and costing initiatives.
• Partner with operations and finance personnel across business lines to drive process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Ad hoc analysis and projects, as needed.

Qualificaions:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ Years of Cost Accounting Experience OR Manufacturing industry exposure

• Experience with ERP systems; creating database queries preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
